The Glass Fiber Shoe Plates - Flat are thicker, rigid orthotic inserts designed to stiffen shoes, limiting motion in the midfoot and forefoot within the shoe. A shoe's rigidity or flexibility significantly affects the biomechanical properties of the foot and ankle. Shoe rigidity is important when treating fractures or arthritis of the midfoot or forefoot.
Place the Flat Glass Fiber Shoe Plates beneath the shoes' existing insoles, or wear them with an over-the-counter insert or prescription orthotic. It is important to wear your plates in shoes that do not have a very flexible sole, as the lack of rigidity will put stress on your plate when you flex your foot, which could cause the plate to crack.
Glass Fiber Shoe Plates - Flat are puncture resistant insoles, protecting the foot from injury. Sold as a pair. By Myfootshop.com. 1 pair/pkg.
Sizing: We strongly suggest that you use length rather than shoe size as the determining factor in deciding which size Glass Fiber Shoe Plates to purchase. The best method is to take your current insole out of your shoe and measure it from the back of the heel to the tip of the toe, then choose a plate that is the same length or slightly shorter than your current insert.
Dimensions: Medium width only. 1/8" thick. See individual sizes for length and the Measurements tab above for detailed dimensions.
Indications - The Flat Glass Fiber Shoe Plates are used to treat metatarsal stress fractures, Freiberg's infraction, turf toe, midfoot arthritis and hallux limitus.
Foot Care Tip! What are the differences between all of the carbon/glass fiber plates sold at Myfootshop.com?
Disclaimer: Shoe designs (called the shoe last) vary so much that matching insoles and shoes is never a precise science. Placing a rigid insert (Spring Plate, Molded Turf Toe Plate, Flat Turf Toe Plate, Flat Glass Fiber Plate) into your shoe may cause wear. The rigidity of these carbon fiber inserts may damage the softer cloth shoe last. Myfootshop.com is not responsible for any damage to your shoes that may be caused by the use of these products.
