The Terpenicol Antifungal Cream is actually Tineacide. We recently changed the name to Terpenicol but the ingredients are all the same with no changes.

Will it take more than one bottle of this to kill my nail fungus?
Answer:
That depends upon a number of variables. For instance, how much of the nail is infected, and how many nails? How compliant are you with applying the Tineacide? Is it really a fungal infection? For most folks, an infection that encompasses less than 50% of the nail can be treated with one bottle.

Can I put this on the skin too? I've been using it on my nail but sometimes I get it on my skin. Is that OK?
Answer:
That's fine. Tineacide works just as well as an antifungal on the skin as it does on the nail.

I'm so glad you are able to answer questions about your products because this is really not an area I know anything about! I have 2 toenails that are so thick and disgusting that I really need to have nail polish on them all the time. So I was wondering, would the Tineacide cream be effective on polished nails if I apply it from the top and kind of push the medication downward into the nails?
Answer:
You can use Tineacide while having nail polish on your affected nails. It should be rubbed in along the cuticle area where the new nail grows from and also at the tip of the nail where the Tineacide can reach the underside of your nail. We also carry Just For Toenails Medicated Nail Polish a medicated nail polish that inhibits the growth of nail fungus, which is great to use along with Tineacide Antifungal Cream.

My son (9yrs. old) has damaged his toenail and will probably lose the nail- not sure if he has a fungal infection- can he use this?
Answer:
Fungal nail infections always follow an injury to the nail. We recommend that everyone with an injury to the nail get started on a topical antifungal as a prophylactic measure so that the damaged nail has a better chance of growing in healthy.

Is this product safe to use while nursing or pregnant? I know generally topical ointments are considered safe, however my dermatologist said they don't recommend anything at all until weaning.
Answer:
Yes, it is safe for use during pregnancy and while breast feeding. But to err on the safe side, be sure to print a copy of the ingredients in Tineacide and have your Ob/gyn approve them for your individual use.

I bought this product and have used it for approx 7weeks. It seems to have helped some but not the the way your packaging advertisement shows. Is it possible I bought a bottle that had a weaker dose of the product? The picture on the packaging sure looks like my nail which i thought would be looking better at this point!
Answer:
The usual time for fungal nails to clear is anywhere from 3 to 9 months, depending on how severe your fungal infection of the nails is. Because toenails are very slow-growing, it takes this long for the medication to take effect on the new nail that grows in. But be sure to continue to use it until the nail grows out.

I mainly need it for my fingernails,not toenails. Most products say they are for the toenail - can I use it for fingernails?
Answer:
Tineacide Antifungal Cream can be used on toe nails and finger nails with equal effectiveness.
Question:
I was also wondering if I can polish the toes during treatment.
Answer:
You can wear polish when using Tineacide Antifungal Lotion, however the medication cannot penetrate the polished areas. In this situation, it is important to apply the Tineacide to the nail edges nearest the cuticle and underneath the tip of the nail. You may want to use Tineacide in conjunction with a medicated nail polish such as Just for Toe Nails Medicated Nail Polish.
Question:
I was using this for a while; it seemed that it worked but I stopped. They were still brittle and crumbed up. Is the fungus supposed to fall off or is it supposed to clear up? How is a nail with fungus suppose to grow?
Answer:
Tineacide will arrest the growth of the fungus allowing the nail to grow out over a period of several months (depending on the severity of the infection-up to 8 months). As you continue to use Tineacide, a new nail should grow in and push the old nail off.
