Shepard's Fracture

Hello everyone,
I've just been diagnosed with a Shephard's Fracture that I've had untreated for over 1 year. Doc wants to do an MRI then a steroid shot and see if that helps the swelling. Is there no way that I could go with resting it for a while to see if it healed? My deductible is 2500.00 and want the least expensive option. Anyone with this injury?
