FAQ's 1 thru 2 shown of 2 total frequently asked questions about AirSport Ankle Brace by Aircast.

Question:
Is the AirSport brace just for sports or can I wear it at work?
Answer:

It's construction is strong enough to wear during sports activities, however, you can wear the AirSport Ankle Brace anytime you need support.

Question:
What kind of brace/sleeve do you recommend for peroneus brevis split below the distal fibula to the cuboid attachment? This is my second brevis split tear (first one was surgically repaired)and this second tear occurred with podiatry made shoe orthosis/inserts. Ankle surgery is onhold due to hip/femur arthroplasty loosening issues and I have been told that I can't cast/hard brace the ankle for instability support because of this...Thanks
Answer:

Be sure to read our conditions page on peroneal tendon tears. What you'll read about is how the peroneal tendons are most commonly injured with inversion sprains. Basically what happens is that as the ankle starts to roll, the peroneal tendons pull up against the fibula to resist the sprain. In some cases, that force is so great that the tendon ruptures. Therefore, the most important aspect of a brace for PB tears is to inhibit inversion. The AirSport is great for that. The Swedo Brace would do well too.
