Turf Toe Plates made of composite carbon graphite limit the range of motion in
the great toe joint, relieving pain in the big toe joint. The plates are very thin yet very stiff.
They're designed to be worn as a pair and fit most enclosed shoes. Because the plates
are very hard we suggest wearing them beneath insoles, either the shoes'
existing insoles or over-the-counter insoles such as
Pedag SOFT Shoe Insoles.
Turf Toe Plates may be modified with a heat gun. Medium width only. Instead of a
half-size we recommend the smaller size.
Indications - Turf toe plates are used in the treatment of
hallux
limitus,
hallux
rigidus,
turf toe,
gouty arthritis and
rheumatoid arthritis of the great toe joint.
Foot
Care Tip! What are the differences among between turf toe plates,
carbon spring plates
and flat carbon
plates? Turf toe plates are thin, 3/4-length, carbon graphite arch supports.
They're best for
hallux
limitus and
hallux
rigidus. Carbon spring plates
are ultra-thin, full-length arch supports. A toe spring
creates a forefoot rocker, off-loading forefoot pain. They're indicated for
metatarsal fractures,
capsulitis,
bursitis
and
Freiberg's infraction.
Flat carbon plates
contain no arch support or toe spring. They're recommended for
metatarsal fractures and
midfoot arthritis.
